Energy Efficiency Tips

The South Australian Government has just announced the second round of the Economic Recovery Fund (ERF), offering grants of up to $50,000 to help businesses invest in energy efficiency. This means small businesses across South Australia have a new opportunity to reduce their energy costs significantly.

What’s on Offer?

Businesses can apply for grants ranging from $2,500 to $50,000, with the requirement that applicants match the funding amount. Up to 8,000 small businesses could benefit from this round of the ERF, which has a total allocation of $20 million. These funds can be used for a variety of energy-saving investments, including:

  • Upgrade your solar panels and batteries.
  • Replace old equipment with high-efficiency models, such as 4-star air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers, and dishwashers.
  • Invest in technology that improves energy efficiency across your operations.
  • Make your heating and cooling systems more efficient

But hurry! Grants will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until the $20 million allocation is exhausted. This is a limited-time opportunity—first in, best dressed! If your business is looking to invest in these areas, now is the time to act.

Why Apply?

In the first round of the ERF, 17 businesses received a total of $26.3 million, facilitating nearly $220 million in investments. These funds were critical in helping manufacturing and tourism businesses upgrade their operations, making them more sustainable and cost-effective.

Round two of the ERF is specifically aimed at helping small businesses mitigate the rising costs of energy. By covering half the cost of energy-efficient upgrades, these grants offer a substantial financial incentive to make long-term improvements that will benefit your bottom line.

How to Apply

Apply for the ERF grants through the Office for Small and Family Business at www.business.sa.gov.au
